The Detroit Lions have released their first depth chart of the season, giving fans a clear look at how the roster is shaping up for Sunday’s divisional showdown at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. While labeled “unofficial,” it offers the strongest indication yet of who will be taking the field in Week 1.
Offense
Jared Goff, fresh off another strong campaign, holds firm as the starting quarterback with veteran Kyle Allen slotted in behind him. The backfield remains a two-headed attack featuring David Montgomery and second-year star Jahmyr Gibbs, with Craig Reynolds and rookie Sione Vaki providing depth.
At wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams headline the group, supported by Kalif Raymond and rookie Isaac TeSlaa. Tight end Sam LaPorta is the top option, backed by Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra.
Detroit’s offensive line — one of the best units in football — will be anchored by tackles Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell. Graham Glasgow locks in at center, with rookies Tate Ratledge (RG) and Christian Mahogany (LG) expected to round out the starting five.
Defense
On defense, Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport are the featured pass-rushers, while rookie Tyleik Williams and veteran DJ Reader secure the middle. The linebacker corps is led by Jack Campbell and Alex Anzalone, with Derrick Barnes set for a sizable role.
The secondary features D.J. Reed and rookie Terrion Arnold as the starting corners, with Amik Robertson handling nickel duties. At safety, Pro Bowler Brian Branch pairs with Kerby Joseph, while Daniel Thomas and Thomas Harper add depth.
Special Teams
Special teams remain steady as Jake Bates takes over kicking duties, Jack Fox returns as punter, and Hogan Hatten is listed as long snapper. Craig Reynolds and Stuard are both in line to contribute on returns.
Detroit’s Week 1 depth chart doesn’t lock in the final rotations, but it does provide the first real glimpse of Dan Campbell’s plan as the Lions look to make a statement against their NFC North rivals.
