The Detroit Lions will soon commence their pre-draft preparations as the Senior Bowl kicks off its practices. Although fans might take pleasure in viewing the game, it’s important to understand that scouts are present to observe the practices, likely more than anything else. It won’t only be for the players; teams will observe their coaches conducting practices and evaluate the process.

That’s the reason why, usually, teams will send a few of their promising or emerging coaches to the event whom they believe have greater potential. For the Lions, it could be their upcoming quarterbacks coach.

Tuiasosopo possesses the necessary qualifications for the position. He played as an NFL quarterback for eight seasons and was a Heisman Trophy candidate during his college years at Washington. He has served as a quarterbacks coach for Washington, California, UCLA, and Rice in college football. The Lions brought him on for his inaugural NFL position before the 2025 season, and he has already made an impression in Detroit.
During the summer, I spoke with Jared Goff, Kyle Allen, and Hendon Hooker regarding the inclusion of another ex-NFL quarterback on the Lions’ staff, and each of them praised Tuiasosopo, discussing the positive influence he has made on the team so far. Having him there is a significant matter for the Lions.
