With training camp underway, the Detroit Lions have already experienced a setback on the defensive line due to an injury to Levi Onwuzurike. The early blow serves as a reminder of the importance of having strong depth in the trenches.

Although re-signing Za’Darius Smith remains a highly logical move, Detroit is reportedly not limiting itself to just one possibility. According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the team has explored the idea of adding veteran edge rusher Matthew Judon to their roster. Judon, an established defensive presence, has long been seen as a good fit. He brings a wealth of experience, totaling 410 tackles and 72 sacks over his career, including 5.5 sacks during the 2024 season with the Falcons.
