In a recent episode of the “St. Brown Podcast,” St. Brown revealed that just 20 minutes before he was drafted, he told his brother, “The one team I don’t want to go to is Detroit.” While it wasn’t his preferred destination at the time, being drafted by the Lions has worked out remarkably well for St. Brown. Over his four years in Detroit, he’s accumulated 430 receptions for 4,851 yards and 33 touchdowns, earning three Pro Bowl selections and making the All-Pro First Team for two consecutive years. His impressive play earned him a four-year, $120 million extension to keep him with the Lions until 2028.

The Lions organization has also seen significant improvement since St. Brown’s arrival. After winning only five games the season before he was drafted, and just three during his rookie year, Detroit recorded 15 wins last season. The team has now built a solid roster that should keep them in contention for years to come. It’s fortunate for the Lions that they selected a wide receiver in the fourth round who initially didn’t want to play for them.
