This weekend, a veteran football coach at the University of Wisconsin Badgers passed away. He was only 70 years old.

For about 30 years, Henry Mason served as an assistant coach at Wisconsin. He has died. He is said to have passed away this weekend. The news of his death was shared online by Wisconsin.

The death of Henry Mason makes us very sorry. As an assistant coach and contact to NFL teams and high school coaches, he was a mainstay of our program for almost 30 years. He was a friend and role model to so many people, and we are thankful for the time we had with him; our prayers are with his family, they said.

Before being sidelined by an injury, Mason served as the wide receivers coach for Wisconsin from 1995 to 2007. He subsequently spent eleven seasons on Wisconsin’s player support team.

The former Wisconsin coach also served on the UW Athletics Diversity Integration Group and collaborated with the UW Foundation, W Club, AFCA, and WIAA at the institution.

We send our sympathies to his friends and relatives at this trying moment.

May he find peace.
