New Orleans (La. ) Brother Martin five-star wide receiver Easton Royal will travel to Baton Rouge this summer for two visits with Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers as the schools compete for his commitment. Push for a flip.

Royal is the No. 1 wideout in the 2027 recruiting class, with Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns having a verbal commitment, but the Bayou Bengals are stepping up the pressure for the explosive pass-catcher.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has received offers from the LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, and Tennessee Volunteers, among others, with the SEC schools mounting a full-court press on Royal.

However, Sarkisian & Co. have the advantage going into a crucial stretch in Royal’s recruitment, with a slew of official visits planned for the summer.

Kiffin and the LSU Tigers are competing in this game, with Royal as their top priority at the receiver position.

All day at school, my buddies are pressing me to convert to the LSU Tigers, Royal told Fox 8 New Orleans. Because you can only go through this procedure once, I’m devoted to Texas, but I’m still attempting to determine if it’s the best option for me. The ultimate aim is to make the greatest decision for myself and my family.

Me and Coach Lane [Kiffin] are developing a bond. He texts me frequently, wishing me luck for the week, sending me videos, encouraging me, and attempting to persuade me to become an LSU Tiger.

Now, Royal has scheduled his visits to LSU this offseason, with an unofficial trip planned for April 24 and an official visit to campus during the weekend of May 28-30 for a multi-day stay.

The No. 1 wide receiver in America has established a busy spring visit schedule, which includes trips to the Florida Gators (March 12), Ole Miss Rebels (March 19), Tennessee Volunteers (March 27), and Texas Longhorns (April 17).

Easton was a Catholic League All-District First-Team pick as a sophomore in 2024, with over 1,100 all-purpose yards for the Brother Martin Crusaders. He also had double-digit scores.

Royal completed his junior year with 53 catches for 1,151 yards and 17 touchdowns, demonstrating his track speed – which he also excels at after finishing the 100-meter dash in 10. 3 seconds last season.

Now, following two consecutive dominant seasons in the Bayou State, the LSU Tigers are lobbying for the Louisiana native in an effort to lure him away from Texas this summer.
