Lions Reveal New Ford Field Wrap

A preseason tradition returned this week as the Lions presented the massive player mural outside Ford Field. After months of speculation about which stars would be featured, the team revealed the design outside Gate A, near Brush and Beacon.

This year’s wrap highlights eight core players: Jahmyr Gibbs, Aidan Hutchinson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jared Goff, Penei Sewell, Brian Branch, Kerby Joseph, and Sam LaPorta. The display differs slightly from last year’s, which included names like Alim McNeill, David Montgomery, Alex Anzalone, Kalif Raymond, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

Campbell Weighs In on Preseason Play

On the field, Detroit dropped its August 16 preseason matchup to the Miami Dolphins 24-17. One of the bigger storylines this summer has been the battle for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Jared Goff. At the moment, Kyle Allen seems to hold the edge.

Campbell praised Allen’s performance against the Falcons, where the veteran stepped in during the second half.

“I thought Kyle played really well,” Campbell said. “He came in, sparked the offense right away, made a couple of huge throws, and handled everything from checks to motions at a really high level.”

Allen himself expressed confidence afterward, saying he’s becoming more comfortable with Detroit’s fast-paced offense and feels increasingly in command of the playbook.

Still, with Hendon Hooker also competing for the role, the Lions will need steady production from their backups should Goff miss any time during the regular season.
