This is a significant week for Florida State football.
Not only have the Seminoles resumed to practice after a long spring vacation, but they are also receiving some significant guests in Tallahassee.
At the top of the list are two quarterbacks that Florida State is aggressively pursuing. Four-star Israel Abrams attended practice on Tuesday, and four-star Jake Nawrot will be in town on Tuesday.
Following the trip, Abrams made it clear that he appreciated his time.
Four-star quarterback plans to return to Florida State very shortly.
Abrams thanked Florida State’s coaching staff for the opportunity, especially head coach Mike Norvell and quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker.
The Seminoles did not disappoint. I want to thank the entire FSU football team for treating my family with kindness, Abrams said on social media. Coach Norvell’s enthusiasm and intensity are genuine and unsurpassed. Thank you, Coach Tucker, for taking the time to chat about basketball and view movies. I’m looking forward to returning to FSU Football very soon.
At this point, Abrams is one of Florida State’s most realistic quarterback possibilities. He is set to visit town on an official trip from June 14 to 16 this summer. Purdue, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee are among the schools interested in recruiting Abrams.
The Seminoles made an offer to Abrams in January, and Tuesday was his first-ever trip to Florida State. This was a great beginning point for the program, but more work has to be done.
Last season, Abrams was named the MaxPreps Illinois High School Football Player of the Year. He completed 233 of 340 passes for 4,072 yards, 40 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while also rushing 82 times for 224 yards and ten additional scores.
In eight of his fourteen appearances, Abrams completed 250+ yards, including a season-high 23/33 for 600 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in a 55-54 triumph over Carmel High School on October 3.
He guided Montini Catholic High School to a 14-0 record and a state title.
The 6-foot-4, 187-pound quarterback is rated as the No. 44 overall prospect, the No. 3 QB, and the No. 2 recruit in Illinois in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
