Matthew Stafford has been instrumental in keeping the Los Angeles Rams near the top of the NFC West standings, leading the team to a strong start this season. With the squad on a Week 8 bye, the veteran quarterback took a well-deserved break to unwind — and he did so in style, alongside his wife, Kelly Stafford.

A Quick Escape for the Staffords

Kelly recently took to Instagram to share highlights from their brief but rejuvenating trip, writing, “24-hour getaway was just what we needed.” The couple decided to enjoy some alone time without their kids, stepping out in matching coordinated outfits that gave off effortless “power couple” vibes.

Their short vacation took them to Yountville, California, a serene wine-country town known for its picturesque streets and fine dining. The pair soaked up scenic views by the lake, strolled through charming walkways, and even enjoyed a relaxing stop at a winery. Naturally, Kelly also shared glimpses of their delicious meal — the perfect ending to their whirlwind retreat.

From College Sweethearts to Family Life

The Staffords’ love story began back at the University of Georgia, where Matthew made history as the school’s first true freshman starting quarterback, and Kelly was a spirited cheerleader studying nursing. Their relationship had its ups and downs early on, but they eventually found their rhythm, tying the knot in 2015, shortly after Kelly became a registered nurse.

Together, they’ve built a beautiful family. Their twin daughters, Sawyer and Chandler, were born in 2017, followed by Hunter Hope in 2018 and Tyler Hall in 2020.

Stafford’s Stellar Season Continues

As Kelly balances motherhood and family life, Matthew remains focused on keeping the Rams in contention. The 37-year-old quarterback has been among the NFL’s most reliable passers this year. Over seven games, he’s thrown 17 touchdown passes, ranking third in passing yards (1,866) and posting a 109.3 passer rating, the fifth-highest in the league. His PFSN QB Impact score of 82.1 also underscores his consistent leadership and efficiency.

Although his yardage totals dipped slightly in recent weeks, Stafford’s precision and poise helped Los Angeles secure consecutive wins. After their week of rest, the Rams will return to action against the New Orleans Saints, a team struggling to find form — setting the stage for Stafford to keep the Rams’ momentum rolling and possibly take command of the NFC West.
