The Ohio State Buckeyes had a hectic winter with the transfer portal, and they are projected to have signed multiple difference makers. This spring has been the first glimpse at the new additions to the Ohio State football program in Columbus, and early results are encouraging.

Former Alabama and Florida State S Earl Little Jr. is a player that has generated a lot of attention this spring for the Buckeyes. Little has also made some foes in his previous stomping area with his most remark.

Earl Little Jr. speaks honestly about the contrasts between Ohio State and Alabama.

Little spent his first two collegiate seasons at Alabama, playing for Nick Saban. The former Crimson Tide safety only played 11 games for Alabama, but he observed a distinction in preparation between Birmingham and Columbus.

“The level of competition, day in and day out,” Little says, are the distinctions between Ohio State and Alabama. “We didn’t compete in the weight room at Alabama like we do here [at Ohio State]. ” So it’s literally like competing in everything you do at Ohio State and having to give it your all every day. “

Little has already lost his black stripe this spring and hopes to play a major role in Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s defense in the fall. Ohio State is adding the 6-foot, 198-pound defender after a productive season at Florida State.

Little had 76 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles for the Seminoles in 2025. For an Ohio State defense seeking to replace All-American Caleb Downs in 2026, it was critical to bring in someone with a track record of success.

Little and former Duke S Terry Moore will be the two safeties that will join Jaylen McClain as regular contributors to Ohio State’s defense.

Little has played for Alabama since 2023, and his comments have obviously put him on the wrong side of Crimson Tide supporters.

Don’t overlook Alabama and Ohio State potentially meeting in the College Football Playoff next season. If the two teams do face off, these comments are likely to re-emerge.
