At the South Florida Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon, a bull rider sustained injuries during a rodeo.

A bull rider who was hurt on Saturday afternoon at the South Florida Fairgrounds during a rodeo has been discharged from the hospital and is anticipated to fully recover.

Units were sent to the fairgrounds on Southern Boulevard at 3:47 p.m. on Saturday for a patient who had suffered a catastrophic injury, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials speaking with WPTV.

The Arrigo Dodge Extreme Rodeo’s organizer, Double K Rodeo Productions, revealed the identity of the injured cowboy on Facebook: Klane Lewis.

“[Lewis] was released the same day and even returned to our evening show to support his colleagues,” Double K Rodeo Productions, Inc. president and CEO Cynthia Czug told WPTV in a statement.

Lewis seemed to have been riding a bull for around 12 seconds on rodeo footage before he fell off and the bull stomped on him. “Paramedics to the arena,” the announcer could be heard cackling the bull as a few cowboys attempted to wrestle it.

Lewis posted a brief video on TikTok with the caption, “All praise be to God. This week, the good Lord truly blessed me and kept a close eye on me.”

According to the fair’s website, the 23rd annual Arrigo Dodge Extreme Rodeo took place on Friday and Saturday. The “family matinee” began at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, when the injury occurred.

Professional athletes who understand the hazards are all of our contestants. This might be compared to other professional sportsmen who are aware of the risks associated with their activity, according to Czug.
