Pull Rider Hayes Thayne Weight made history at the Norris Penrose Rodeo Event Center
A fresh group of cowboys and cowgirls competed at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo on Thursday night, hoping to punch their tickets to the Saturday night finals.
Sue Smith of Idaho had the fastest time in barrel racing, clocking in at 16.88 seconds. The finale did not disappoint, as Hayes Thayne Weight faced a formidable challenge against the 34-0 bull Kingdom.
Weight made history at the Norris Penrose Event Center by holding on for those vital eight seconds! Smith and Weight will compete again on Friday night, and their combined scores will determine whether they move on to the final day of the rodeo on Saturday.
