Mississippi’s best player in the 2027 cycle is about to approach Pete Golding, who is now ranked third in the nation among interior offensive linemen.
Ole Miss was one of the last five schools that elite five-star inside offensive lineman Caden Moss named. The other four on Moss’s list—LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and Kentucky—are now the targets of a recruiting war.
Golding has already scheduled Moss for a second official trip on June 19 after he led the list of prospects who went to the Manning Center this weekend.

Given Golding’s clear in-state dominance over the competition, they are a strong contender to wear the Red and Blue kit in 2027.
Golding’s recent hire of Cody Woodiel as co-OC is paying off, and Frank Wilson is demonstrating his recruiting prowess. Woodiel is a true Mississippian, with strong connections to the Magnolia State and South Florida, which makes him an important component in Golding’s leverage in his home state. Wilson, on the other hand, had ties to the recruiting industry that would make any program envious.
The Rebels’ advantage is further enhanced by Terrence Metcalf’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame as an offensive tackle. All things considered, Golding possesses the ideal resources to make sure Moss enrolls at Ole Miss.
Golding will need blue-chip prospects like Moss to maintain pace with the College Football Playoff standard, and maybe even a National Championship standard, if they can get there this season, now that Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy will be gone in 2027.
