The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed veteran nose tackle Breiden Fehoko to their practice squad following the placement of Montravius Adams on injured reserve due to a knee injury. This move is particularly important as the team lacks depth at the nose tackle position, with Fehoko likely to be elevated to the 53-man roster in the near future.
Fehoko’s return comes after a challenging period; he initially suffered a shoulder injury during training camp in early August, leading to an injury settlement with the team. Following the news of his signing, he expressed optimism on social media, stating, “Process! Be back soon!”
A former LSU standout, Fehoko entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020. He played a significant role in the Chargers’ defense over three seasons, participating in 19 games and starting four, during which he recorded 36 tackles and one tackle for loss.
Reflecting on his career, Fehoko highlighted his productive 2022 season, crediting it to a combination of physical readiness from college and valuable mental experience gained while observing from the sidelines in his earlier years. He emphasized the importance of mental preparation in enhancing his game.
Fehoko also mentioned the impact of learning from coaches like Karl Dunbar and Denzel Martin, stating that his time with them has helped elevate his performance. As he looks forward to the remainder of the season, he remains focused on showcasing his abilities with the Steelers.
