The Pittsburgh Steelers are poised for a significant boost as they prepare to welcome back four key players who had been sidelined by injuries ahead of their game against the Washington Commanders. These players include center Zach Frazier, outside linebacker Nick Herbig, quarterback Justin Fields, and running back Cordarrelle Patterson. Their returns could provide a major lift for the team as they look to strengthen their roster after the bye week.

Frazier, who had been recovering from an ankle injury sustained during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders, is optimistic about his return. He participated in practice on Wednesday and reported feeling good. After a month of rehabilitation, he tested his ankle and is now confident he can take the field again. His return is expected to provide a boost to the offensive line.

Patterson, who had been dealing with a high ankle sprain, has also made significant progress in his recovery. He has been practicing for the past two weeks and has now fully participated in practice. His ability to return to action will add depth to the Steelers’ running back group, offering another dynamic option on offense.

Fields, who had been listed as the emergency third quarterback in the previous game against the New York Giants due to a slight hamstring issue, is also set to return. While his injury was not a major concern, it did keep him out of action temporarily. Fields is now healthy and expected to resume his role as the backup quarterback, providing added security behind starter Kenny Pickett.

The most uncertain of the four returnees is outside linebacker Nick Herbig. He had expressed his intention to play earlier in the week and participated in practice on Wednesday, signaling a good chance of his return. While it is still up in the air, there is a great deal of optimism within the Steelers’ organization that Herbig will be ready to contribute by Monday’s game, adding strength to the team’s defense
