Texas Tech volleyball announced the hiring of Norene Iosia as an assistant coach on Monday.

Following a successful playing career at Hawaii and the professional level, Iosia served as an assistant coach at Nevada for three seasons. She was a setter/outside hitter for Hawaii, ending her career ranked ninth in career assists (3,148), eighth in career digs (1,175), and tied for second in service aces (139).

Iosia was named Big West Player of the Year, first-team all-conference all four years, and an AVCA All-American honorable mention in 2019.

Iosia travelled abroad after college and played professional in Greece, Hungary, and Switzerland.

Our aim was to discover an offensive-minded coach to lead our setters, and Norene will excel in this position, according to Tony Graystone. There was a lot of interest in this role, but it rapidly became evident that Norene would be a fantastic match with the team and coaching staff, and I’m very happy for her to get started.
