A recent forecast from Rivals lead analyst Steve Wilfong has the four-star 2027 running back Myson Cook-Johnson committing to the Missouri Tigers. According to On3’s industry system, Cook-Johnson is the No. 39 overall player in composite ratings.
A student at East St. Louis High School, Cook-Johnson is from East St. Louis, Illinois. As is well known, that is the institution where former Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III and Missouri cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. studied.
Cook-Johnson is not only the top player in Illinois but also the second-best athlete in the nation. Although some recruitment websites list him as an edge, Missouri running back coach Curtis Luper is recruiting him.
Most of the nation’s top programs are vying for the East St. Louis product, including Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, and many more. On3 reports that Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Missouri are the schools that are most popular for him.
The Tigers are now favored to sign Cook-Johnson with an 85. 1% probability, while Auburn and Ole Miss have a 3. 4% and 2. 2% chance, respectively, according to On3’s prediction system.
Cook-Johnson is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. In the regular season for East St. Louis, he averaged 111. 8 yards per game and 10. 6 yards per run, scoring 21 touchdowns and 1,341 yards.
Braylen Warren, a composite three-star quarterback from Omaha, Nebraska, is the Tigers’ lone commitment in their 2027 class. Lawrence Britt, a wide receiver from Memphis who is ranked No. 125 overall in the nation, is trending towards Missouri.
The 2027 class, which will be led by Warren, Britt, and Cook-Johnson, is the focus of Eli Drinkwitz’s efforts to create a top-tier offense. Three-star interior offensive lineman Lual Aleu and four-star wide receiver Tae Walden Jr. are now predicted to commit to Missouri.
Like many other teams throughout the nation, the Tigers will begin their official visiting procedure in May. During that period, Drinkwitz and his crew will likely be hosting a large number of potential candidates from across the nation.
