The former quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, Newton, amusingly conveyed his disappointment at not being invited to Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo’s wedding.

On June 29, the couple got married by the sea at the Ocean House resort. The three-season Panthers teammate of McCaffrey, Newton, made light of the lost invitation and admitted to being “bitter” in the most recent installment of his “4th & 1” podcast.

The two former colleagues engaged in friendly banter after Newton made some humorous comments.

The San Francisco 49ers’ McCaffrey, a running back, replied to Newton’s remarks on social media. He recounted a chat he had at the nuptials with Newton’s longtime teammate and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen.

McCaffrey joked that he wanted Newton could have been there, even though he hadn’t heard back from him in four years.

“Me: ‘”This was a great night, but you know what would’ve made it even better?” I said to Greg at the bar. Greg: “What?” “If Cam were here,” I said. It’s been four years since I received a text back. Actually, they’ve just turned green.

Greg: *Drinks some whisky “He would have cherished it—four years? even on Instagram. Me: “It’s just once, but that doesn’t matter” (insert laughing track). They sit silently for thirty seconds until he gives the command for another round.

Christian: ‘Why don’t he love me man?’

The lighthearted repartee brought to light a possible miscommunication and appeared to be done in good humor. In addition, Newton made light of the fact that 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who was present at the nuptials with his wife Jenna, had a “beef” and wasn’t invited. Earlier in the 2023 season, Newton had called Purdy a “game manager”.

“Look, C Mac, how come I wasn’t invited? Was there a quarrel between Brock Purdy and? Was Brock present? On his podcast, Newton made a joke. Newton carried on with his humorous tirade, making jokes about interrupting the wedding and showing jealousy of the enjoyment he was unable to partake in.

“Man, fuck that! Newton remarked, “You’re lucky I wasn’t there, C Mac, because I would’ve crashed that mother f-ker.” “Man, I would’ve wrecked it. I can’t believe how much fun they appeared to be having. Newton said, “I don’t know if I could have gone.” “… I at least wanted to say, ‘Bro I can’t make it.’ I at least wanted to give you a present or something.”

Newton also threw a jab at CMC’s wedding

“He told his girlfriend Jasmine Brown, ‘Damn baby, they look good.'” Yes, those certainly look fantastic, I agreed. She said, “Damn, Olivia changed outfits three times,” right away. Hell, one of the ensembles could have included a Meshika cap. Oh no C Mac. Fuck off! Newton made a joke about wanting to appear like Greg [Olsen], alluding to a widely shared image of Olsen at the wedding. With a distinct manner,

Newton, who is well-known for his remarkable on-field performances and expressive personality, congratulated the newlyweds.

“Well congratulations Olivia McCaffrey and Christian,” he said. With the Panthers, Newton and McCaffrey developed into a potent quarterback-running back combination. In 35 games with McCaffrey, Newton finished with a quarterback rating of 85.4, 7,558 yards, 49 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions, per StatMuse. In that time, they connected on 23 touchdowns.
