Talaysia Cooper, a Tennessee redshirt junior guard, announced her decision for her future with the Lady Vols. The 6-foot guard stated on Thursday that she will join the NCAA transfer portal.
After much deliberation and prayer, I have decided to join the transfer portal to continue my journey, Cooper said on Instagram.
Cooper joins Mia Pauldo, Mya Pauldo, Lauren Hurst, Alyssa Latham, Deniya Prawl, and Kaniya Boyd in transferring from the Lady Vols.
The NCAA transfer gateway will open on April 6, following the NCAA Tournament national championship game.
The 2025-26 basketball season was Tennessee’s second under head coach Kim Caldwell. The Lady Volunteers finished with a 16-14 (8-8 SEC) record and were ousted in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by North Carolina State.
Tennessee had a 24-10 overall record in Caldwell’s inaugural season, including an 8-8 mark in the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Vols upset UConn in the regular season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2025.
