The upcoming Lions-Commanders playoff game is expected to generate a significant economic impact in Detroit, with an estimated $64 million boost to the city’s economy, according to Anderson Economic Group. This figure accounts for various factors, including the Lions game, a Pistons game at Little Caesars Arena, and the Detroit Auto Show, which is taking place at Huntington Place. The projection indicates that over 67,000 attendees will contribute to local spending in areas such as restaurants, hotels, parking, and souvenirs.

Tyler Thiele of Anderson Economic Group notes that the direct economic impact from these activities is estimated at $39.3 million. This includes not only ticket sales, but also additional costs related to public safety and event logistics. The remaining portion of the total impact comes from the ripple effect of this spending, which circulates through the local economy.
