The Detroit Lions have experienced a whirlwind of events following their postseason exit. After their Super Bowl hopes were dashed by a loss to the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round, significant changes to the coaching staff began. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson left to become the Chicago Bears’ head coach, while defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn departed to join the New York Jets. Kelvin Sheppard was brought in to replace Glenn.

While the Lions still have an opening at offensive coordinator, one candidate is quickly gaining traction. On the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that John Morton is a strong contender for the role, stating, “I would expect John Morton to be the offensive coordinator in Detroit.”
