Trey-Burke-shares-advice-for-athletes-in-NCAA-tournament

Trey Burke’s alma mater is going to the NCAA Championship after the University of Michigan defeated Arizona 91-73.

The former Michigan Wolverine gave the men’s squad some advise before their Final Four matchup with Arizona.

“Staying in the moment,” Burke said to TMZ Sports. “It’s easy to focus on what might happen if you win or lose, you know, get caught up in the celebrations and realize you’re actually here. “

“I believe the most important thing is to stay in the moment, appreciate it, and get lost in the game. It’s one of those games that you can’t truly go back and replay. “

While having a strong season helps you reach the Final Four and the championship game, Burke emphasized that winning the championship is the ultimate goal.

“You may have a wonderful year and reach that game just to lose and fall short. So, I’m cheering those guys on. They’ve all had a terrific year, and I’m as thrilled as if I were competing.

Burke played for Michigan for two seasons, 2011-2013. During his sophomore season, 2012-2013, he led the Wolverines to the NCAA Championship before entering the 2013 NBA Draft. He was selected ninth overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2013, but traded to the Utah Jazz. Burke played for the Jazz (2013–2016), Washington Wizards (2016–2017), New York Knicks (2018–2019), Philadelphia 76ers (2019–2020), and Dallas Mavericks (2019, 2020–2022). He eventually played in the G League for the Stockton Kings, as well as in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

During his time at Michigan, he was the unanimous National Player of the Year, and the university retired his No. 3 shirt in honor of his accomplishments.

Michigan will now face UConn, which beat Illinois 62-71 in their Final Four game. The NCAA National Championship will be held on April 6 at 8:50 p. m. ET.
