Luke Mast is accustomed to being in the winner’s circle. He traveled to Salinas with the intention of repeating his earlier-year victory over the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls.

Luke Mast was victorious at the ‘Big Week Bull Riding’ Xtreme Bulls, having skillfully covered two bulls. With his 81-point ride, he finished seventh in the first round.

Riding Corey and Lange Rodeo’s Bull, Stand By Me, he scored an 85.5 point ride to emerge victorious in round two. Being the only guy to successfully ride two bulls, he won the average with a combined score of 166.5 on two heads.

This year, the 23-year-old has made further progress in the bull-riding community. He won the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls in February.

He is presently ranked no. 11 in the PRCA World Standings Race and is in his second year on the Xtreme Bull Riding Tour.

In order to compete for the first time at the Nationals Finals Rodeo (NFR) in December in Las Vegas, he hopes to remain in the top 15. The richest rodeo in California and a perennial favorite is Rodeo Salinas.

This year’s competitors are vying for a prize fund that surpasses $500,000. The Salinas Rodeo carries on the rich history of the Wild West Show, which it began as more than a century ago in 1911.

On July 17, the 2024 Big Week Bull Riding in Salinas was a sold-out event. Participating in the Xtreme Bulls Tour of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the event attracted several of the top bull riders worldwide.

Following the performance, spectators enjoyed a firework display that served as a prelude to Rodeo Salinas, which takes place July 18–21, 2024.
