Here at the Butte-Silver Bow County Fair, there are motorbikes, mechanical bulls, live music, and animals. I’m a writer who takes my profession far too seriously, so I’m not riding that mechanical bull! What’s the secret so I can give this a try? How should I proceed? Please advise me.
“Stay on top,” said Dawson Huff.
Remain atop the bull. This is something I can manage. I am punk rock, not a cowboy! Was I really riding when you saw me? Have I got it? Eleven-year-old Caliber Hart stated,
“Ah, you lasted like 12 seconds and surprisingly didn’t get bucked off.” The freestyle dirt bike leap was one thing I was determined not to attempt.
“I’ve been riding freestyle for a really long time, man.” Freestyle racer Destin Cantrell stated, “I started riding dirt bikes when I was four years old and got pro in 2005 when I was fifteen. I’m 34 now and still going strong. Young people involved in 4-H also have their prize-winning animals on exhibit.
Aubree Smith, nine years old, can explain to you how she shapes her pigs into blue ribbons. Smith explained, “We used to apply hair softener to them after they bathed, which is why their hair is so soft.”
Daredevil Spanky Spangler will perform his last-ever stunt—a freefall from more than 100 feet above the ground—at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cantrell remarked,
“And what an awesome place to do your last stunt at 76 years old… that’s crazy.” The band Little Texas will play an evening concert at the Butte Civic Center on Saturday to prolong the festival.
