Hubba Hagerty suffered serious injuries in the Cusick bull riding competition two years ago, even though she had won.
This year, he was back at the Cusick Fair Rodeo. Jason Hodge, Haggerty’s friend, drew Shamrock, the bull who injured Haggerty.
According to Shamrock Rodeo stock contractor Pat McLauglin, “his best friend drew the same bull.” “He came out of the same chute riding him.”
Hodge received the best score in the rodeo—90 points—after he got off the spinning bull. Being the lone rider to qualify, he took home the largest payout of $1,529 from the rodeo.

In the open barrel racing, Jadah Bell of Colville won in a time of 16.59 seconds. She took home $970. With a 6.96 second run, the Spokane team of Ty Schlect and the Northport team of Sam Parker won the team roping. They took home $815 apiece.
Breakaway roping was won by Jayce Chrisman with a time of 3.18. She won $790 for the run.
Cage doggin’ is a unique event that only happens at Cusick. It’s similar to steer wrestling, but instead of starting from the ground, the competitor tosses a steer. For the third time in a row, Jessie Macias of Madras, Oregon, took home the prize money of $790.
With a 74-point ride, Peyton Robinson of Prosser, Washington, won the bareback riding competition.
He took home $560. Dillon Zieske, a different Prosser cowboy, took home the ranch bronc riding title and $460 after an 85-point ride.
Kalyna Vopat won the junior barrel racing competition with a time of 16.9 seconds.
