After 52 events, the 2024 Xtreme Bulls Tour Champion has been declared. Here’s how the two-night finale unfolded in Pendleton.

With numerous rodeos and events across the nation, bull riders now have more opportunities than ever, thanks to the Xtreme Bulls and the PBR. The culmination of the 52-event series saw the crowning of the 2024 champion at Pendleton’s two-night finale.

Riders battled all season for a coveted spot in the top 24 of the Xtreme Bull standings, vying for a shot in the Happy Canyon arena. With a $110,000 payout on the line, the outcome could drastically impact the NFR rankings and determine who to watch in the coming weeks.

The final showdown was split into four sections, with each rider attempting to ride four bulls.

Nineteen-year-old Jetter Lawrence, ranked No. 8 globally, kicked off the night by winning the first section with 87 points on Five Star Rodeo’s Buck Nasty.

In the second section, another 19-year-old, Cooper James, emerged victorious, scoring 87.5 points on Muddy Creek Pro Rodeo’s Southern Heat.

This season highlighted the rise of young bull riders, with those aged 18 to 21 proving they have the skill and determination to make a name for themselves, following in the footsteps of their rodeo idols.

Trevor Reiste, who last rode in the NFR in 2017, partnered with Blue Magic from Outlawbuckers Rodeo to win the third section. Reiste scored 90.5 points on a bull that had seen only one qualified ride in two years, earning his place in the spotlight.

Trey Benton III claimed the fourth section aboard Prime Time, a bull from Wayne Vold that previously helped Clayton Sellars win at the Ellensburg Xtreme Bulls event. Benton’s thrilling 90.5-point ride thrilled the crowd.

Dustin Boquet, a three-time NFR qualifier who had been hovering on the bubble for the last two years, secured the 2024 Xtreme Bulls Finale title. With 260.5 points across three bulls, Boquet earned $24,071, positioning him to break into the top 15 for another NFR appearance.

Josh Frost, who had finished as runner-up in the Xtreme Bulls Tour for the past few years, finally claimed the 2024 Tour Championship. His perseverance and dedication have taken him to the top.
