The Detroit Lions crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars 52-6 at home on Sunday, with players achieving numerous historic milestones.
Team Accomplishments
The 2024 Lions joined an exclusive group of nine teams to rush for over 100 yards and a touchdown in their first 10 games, alongside teams like the 1975 Miami Dolphins and 1934 Chicago Bears.
Detroit also tied an NFL record by having four players post 95+ scrimmage yards and a touchdown in one game:
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown: 157 yards, 2 touchdowns
WR Jameson Williams: 126 yards, 1 touchdown
RB Jahmyr Gibbs: 123 yards, 1 touchdown
RB David Montgomery: 95 yards, 2 touchdowns
The Lions scored seven touchdowns in two games this season, a franchise first. They also became the fourth team in NFL history to score 52+ points in consecutive home games, joining teams like the 2014 Packers.
Detroit is now one of four teams to allow one or fewer passing touchdowns while recording at least one interception in their first 10 games, alongside the 1985 Eagles and 1939 Giants.
Individual Accomplishments
Quarterback Jared Goff recorded a passer rating of 125+ with two or more touchdown passes in three straight home games, tying an NFL record. He has four games with a 140+ passer rating this season, tying the single-season record. Goff also set a new NFL record with five games completing 80% of passes and is the only quarterback to have multiple 400-yard, perfect passer rating games.
Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown became the third Lion with a game of 10+ receptions, 150+ yards, and 2 touchdowns, joining Brett Perriman and Cloyce Box. He has tied for third in Lions history with 18 100-yard games and has 29 touchdowns, tied for ninth in franchise history. His streak of eight games with a touchdown is the NFL’s third-longest since 1970.
St. Brown, Montgomery, and Gibbs scored in the same game for the eighth time, setting an NFL record for a trio. Gibbs matched Barry Sanders with 70+ scrimmage yards in 10 straight games and reached 1,000 scrimmage yards in 10 games, a feat last achieved by Reggie Bush in 2013.
Montgomery became the third Lion to rush for 10+ touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, joining Sanders and Billy Sims. He and Gibbs each have eight rushing touchdowns in consecutive seasons, a duo feat last seen with the 1960-61 Packers.
Jameson Williams’ first seven career touchdowns have been catches of 30+ yards, a record last set by JJ Birden in 1992. His three 50+ yard touchdowns this season are the most for a Lion since Calvin Johnson in 2013.
Safety Kerby Joseph became the first Lion since 1976 to record seven interceptions and a pick-six in a season. His 15 career interceptions tie the Lions’ record through a player’s first three seasons.
Linebacker Alex Anzalone became the first Lion since DeAndre Levy (2012-14) to record at least seven tackles for loss in three straight seasons.
