Lions Bring Back Jaguars Linebacker Amid Defensive Injuries

The Detroit Lions are dealing with significant injuries on defense, having lost Alim McNeil (torn ACL), Carlton Davis (broken jaw), and Khalil Dorsey (fractured ankle) during Sunday night’s defeat to the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field.

Already missing Aidan Hutchinson (broken tibia), Marcus Davenport (tricep injury), and linebacker Alex Anzalone (broken arm), Detroit addressed their growing list of absentees on Monday with a familiar face for fans.

The Lions signed linebacker Anthony Pittman from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad, reuniting him with former teammates in Detroit.

This marks Pittman’s second stint with the Lions, who face the Chicago Bears on Sunday in Chicago. Despite the team’s depleted lineup, quarterback Jared Goff remains optimistic, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

“We’ll be fine,” Goff said following the loss. “I’m sure there will be plenty of talk about the sky falling, but inside, we’re solid. We had won a lot in a row before this, and losing stings, but we’re good.”

Detroit heads to Soldier Field to take on the Bears this Sunday.

Pittman returns for his second stint with the Lions

A Detroit native, Pittman attended Birmingham Groves High School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, before playing at Wayne State University from 2014 to 2018.
