Detroit Lions All-Pro center Frank Ragnow has been removed from the team’s injury report ahead of their Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. Despite missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to a back injury, Ragnow returned to full practice on Friday. Right guard Graham Glasgow, who has been dealing with a knee issue, was limited in practice on Friday after being sidelined earlier in the week. He was not expected to practice on Friday, according to head coach Dan Campbell. Glasgow has started every game this season.
Three Lions players are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game: safety Brian Branch (calf), safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (hand), and Glasgow. Branch was limited in practices on Thursday and Friday, while Melifonwu participated fully all week. Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin has been ruled out with a neck injury. Although he was designated to return from injured reserve on Thursday, he is not yet ready to play. Running back David Montgomery is also out as he continues to rehab a knee injury, aiming to return for the playoffs.
Other Lions players removed from the injury report include offensive tackle Taylor Decker, linebacker Trevor Nowaske, defensive linemen D.J. Reader and Za’Darius Smith, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and offensive guard Kevin Zeitler.
The Bears have ruled out offensive tackle Ryan Bates (concussion) and have four players listed as questionable: defensive tackle Gervon Dexter (knee), offensive tackles Teven Jenkins (calf) and Braxton Jones (concussion), and cornerback Jaylon Johnson (illness). Running back Travis Homer is doubtful due to a hamstring injury.
The Lions (12-2) are competing for the NFC’s top seed with the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, both at 12-2, after their Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Lions and Bears will face off at Soldier Field on Sunday at noon.
