The Detroit Lions secured the NFC’s No. 1 seed and earned a first-round bye in this year’s playoffs, meaning they didn’t know their Divisional Round opponent until Sunday night.
The Lions will face the Washington Commanders at 8 p.m. on Saturday, airing on Fox. Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson, a former Michigan State basketball star and Lansing native, is a part-owner of the Commanders and will likely be closely following the game.
After hosting two playoff games last year—marking the first Lions home playoff games since the 1990s—the Lions are set to host Washington and aim to win to keep their postseason run alive.
