When his team needed him most, Jayden Daniels delivered a standout performance.
The Washington Commanders entered Saturday’s Divisional Round matchup against the Detroit Lions as underdogs, with the No. 1 seed Lions heavily favored to win at Ford Field.
However, Daniels had other plans, leading the Commanders to a shocking 45-31 victory and securing their spot in the NFC Championship Game.
The rookie quarterback shined under pressure, completing 22 of 31 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns—arguably his best performance yet as a pro.
Following the win, his mom, Regina Jackson, took to social media to share a heartfelt message. She posted a photo of herself embracing Daniels and captioned it with lyrics from Rod Wave’s 2022 hit, “Shock Da World.”
Jackson’s song choice perfectly encapsulated her son’s heroics in the Commanders’ stunning victory. Despite facing MVP contender Jared Goff (23-of-40 for 313 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions), Daniels won the QB duel and “shocked the world” by defying the odds.
The lyrics reflect Jackson’s confidence that her son’s best is yet to come. “You ain’t seen nothing yet,” she declared.
Daniels and the Commanders now have a week to prepare for their next challenge. The NFC Championship Game, scheduled for Jan. 26, will see them face either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Los Angeles Rams.
