As it stands, the Miami Heat lineup requires more depth in the front court. Aside from Kel’el Ware and Bam Adebayo, no one else can secure the paint for the second unit. To complicate things further, Adebayo and Ware are both expected to be included in Erik Spoelstra’s starting lineup for the upcoming season. This is where Nikola Vucevic might play a role. In a recent piece by Dan Riccio from Hot Hot Hoops, Vucevic was suggested as a sensible trade option for Miami if it seeks an inexpensive big man improvement. “The most plausible trade that the Heat might execute could involve Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic,” Riccio stated. “He is yet another player who has been available on the trade market for a considerable period.” Vucevic is said to be on the market for an appropriate offer. He’s beginning the last year of his existing three-year $60 million contract. The two-time All-Star, fresh off one of his strongest seasons in recent years, would certainly embrace a chance to connect with a Heat squad that is just a year or so from possibly competing
Heat Might Focus on Precious Achiuwa If a deal for Vucevic isn’t enticing to Miami, then Precious Achiuwa might be a viable alternative. The strong big man will be a free agent this summer and is expected to be obtainable on a minimum deal. In an article for ClutchPoints on July 29, Brett Siegel forecasted that Achiuwa might join the Heat before the 2025-26 NBA season begins
“According to Siegel, the Miami Heat is one team that could benefit from additional frontcourt assistance this offseason.” “This fit is logical as Achiuwa can back up Bam Adebayo and enhance his overall skills, and the former Knicks center recently bought a two-bedroom condo in South Beach… Miami has a vacant roster slot, allowing them to sign Achiuwa without exceeding their first-apron hard cap… Prediction: Precious Achiuwa remains in the Eastern Conference, joining the Heat’s frontcourt behind Bam Adebayo.”
