Chris Lofton, a celebrated figure from the Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball team, has secured his place in the state’s athletic history following his induction into the Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame.

Lofton earned the title of SEC Player of the Year in 2007, was recognized as an All-American three times, and holds the SEC record for the most three-pointers made.

He is among several distinguished individuals associated with Tennessee athletics joining the 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame class:

  • Rod Delmonico, Baseball
  • Shyra Ely, Women’s Basketball
  • Lawrence Johnson, Men’s Track and Field
  • Chris Lofton, Men’s Basketball
  • Erica Popson, Women’s Golf
  • Charles Rosenfelder, Football
  • Kylee Rossi, Soccer
  • Brenda Webb, Women’s Track and Field
  • Ralph Weekly, Softball

Director of Athletics Danny White stated, “Tennessee Athletics possesses a rich history of achievement and excellence. This new group of Hall of Fame inductees embodies everything that makes our Volunteers and Lady Volunteers exceptional. These former outstanding student-athletes and coaches have elevated the benchmarks in their respective sports, and we take immense pride in welcoming this remarkable class into the Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame.”

Lofton is also one of only five Volunteers to have his jersey retired and displayed in the rafters of Thompson-Boling Arena.
