Fluminense has no plans to sell Andre Trindade to Liverpool or any other club this summer.

The Red Devils have been closely linked with a move for Andre in recent days. With the latest reports putting his valuation at around £34m, the Brazilian looks like a good choice for Jurgen Klopp.

But all links have been suspended to the point that Andre’s current team is not ready to let him go yet. And considering the rumors for his Substack Daily Briefing, journalist Fabrizio Romano says that’s completely accurate.

“Another midfielder with links to Liverpool is the 22-year-old Brazilian talent Andre,” Romano began. “But I understand it’s nothing specific.

“I have been told very clearly that Fluminense wants to keep Andre at least until the January transfer window, so it is something more difficult for Liverpool or any club.

Fluminense stand firm on Andre

Fluminense will of course fight to the teeth to keep Andre. They are in the middle of the season and are vying for a place in the top 4 in Serie A.

The 22-year-old is one of their key players and it would undermine their campaign to let him go now. This will obviously complicate things for Liverpool trying to bring him to Anfield.

However, each player has his or her own price. Liverpool themselves have lost significant numbers mid-season over the years. If the price is right – as is the case with Philippe Coutinho and Fernando Torres – anything is possible.

So far, Andre’s valuation makes him cheaper than another Reds target – Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

However, with Fluminense not wanting to let Liverpool go through easily, it could cost them more than the £40m the Red Devils are willing to commit to Lavia.

At this point, perhaps a move for André no longer makes sense. He looks like a good midfielder who could one day replace Thiago Alcantara. But he will have to adjust to life in the UK and a huge leap in intensity as well as quality. Despite these, it looks like Liverpool will have to pay a fee to bring the Brazil international to Merseyside. If they think he’s worthy, the Reds can carry on regardless. But it’s probably more likely to be revisited in the new year.
