Chelsea’s target, Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, has apparently attracted interest from Liverpool.
According to a Football Insider report, Chelsea is interested in signing Moises Caicedo. However, they will now have to contend with Liverpool, a contender in the Premier League.

It will be intriguing to see if the two English teams are willing to pay Caicedo’s estimated £100 million asking price. It is uncertain whether Chelsea would make a better offer for the Ecuadorian midfielder after having their latest £80 million bid for him rejected.

During the January transfer window, Caicedo was also mentioned in connection with a transfer away from Brighton. However, the Seagulls were able to keep him and persuade him to agree to a new, long-term contract. This summer, the athlete will be eager to move on, but it’s unclear where he’ll finish up.

He will want to compete at the greatest level, and it will be difficult for him to pass up the chance to join teams like Liverpool and Chelsea. One of the largest clubs in the nation, Liverpool, will have to find a replacement for Fabinho.

After the Brazilian’s departure to Saudi Arabia was finalized, Liverpool was in need of a strong defensive midfielder. Caicedo is unquestionably among the best in the Premier League at his position, and he would be a great addition in the long run. Similarly, N’Golo Kante, a club legend, has left Chelsea, and they must find a suitable replacement.

It is yet unclear where the 21-year-old midfielder will end up, but joining either team would be an intriguing move. After placing 12th in the league standings, Chelsea won’t be taking part in the UEFA Champions League the following season. Liverpool, on the other hand, will take part in the Europa League after failing to place among the top four.

It will be interesting to see if the midfielder is attracted to work with Jurgen Klopp or Mauricio Pochettino this summer. The Premier League team might have to decrease their expectations in order for the deal to go through because Brighton’s rumored £100 million asking price appears very high.
