Moises Caicedo’s future took another turn as he was left out of the squad for Brighton’s final pre-season friendly
Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo has been ‘out of the squad’ for the final pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano.
Roberto De Zerbi has faced speculation throughout the summer about the Ecuadorian midfielder amid interest from Chelsea. Liverpool have been linked with the 21-year-old, but his next destination is Stamford Bridge.
According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, the Ecuador international has been allowed to focus for the Premier League opening match against Luton Town next weekend.
In recent days, The Athletic have reported that The Seagulls have reached a preliminary agreement with Ajax for midfielder Mohammed Kudus for £ 34.5 million.
Chelsea have had two offers rejected by Brighton this summer for Caicedo, and they continue to negotiate to sign the midfielder.
Seagulls coach De Zerbi talked about the difficulty of changing their midfield generals.

“We have to wait and see what happens with Caicedo. Then we know what we have to do. “At the moment I have not received any news that Caicedo could leave tomorrow or next week. I will definitely start next season with Caicedo in mind in the first 11 men.
“I spoke to Tony Bloom and he told me that if conditions don’t change, Moises will stay with us. For me it will be great news because it’s hard to find a good player. other.” “If Moises leaves, we have to find another player of the same level.”
