Liverpool transfer information:
FSG have sent off Real Madrid with a big offer, according to a report in Spain. A decision about Chephren Thuram was explained.

Liverpool have remained silent on the transfer market since reaching an agreement with Dominik Szoboszlai on July 2, more than a month ago. Since then, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have both left, bringing new urgency to the midfield recruitment task.

However, with the season opener against Chelsea just six days away, it doesn’t look like Liverpool will be in a hurry. With Jürgen Klopp seemingly having to go into this game without a high-profile No. 6, the hope is that FSG can strike some really wise deals before the market closes, rather than rush into moves. panic like last season’s loan ‘Arthur Melo.

And it looks like at least one transfer could be accelerated, with a report from Spain saying Liverpool have now made a big offer for a defensive midfielder. That should be enough to stave off interest from Real Madrid.

On the other hand, there has been no news of Chephren Thuram for a while, with the Frenchman being touted as one of Liverpool’s most likely deals for much of the summer. Not a professional number six, however he can fill the void left by Henderson – the club have now decided to buy the youngster.

Here is Liverpool.com’s verdict on the transfer rumors swirling around the Red Devils today.

Khéphren Thuram (Nice)

Liverpool have decided not to pursue Thuram anymore this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano on YouTube channel Born and Red. The midfielder is now expected to stay at Nice.

Ultimately, Liverpool withdrew their interest in the pricing issue, believing there was little that could be done. Romano claims transfer fees and demands on player wages are considered excessive.

Liverpool.com says:
Just as ideally Liverpool will have a few more midfielders at the moment, the club can’t rush into any deals for a player who looks a good fit. While Thuram will tick a lot of boxes, he’s not necessarily the one to break the bank, instead FSG prefers to trigger release clauses for Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister to get quality output really play in the role of number eight.

If demand from players and clubs declines before the transfer window ends, perhaps Liverpool should reconsider the situation. But a late gesture is better than a false one, even if it raises questions in the first weeks of the season.

Roméo Lavia (Southampton)

The Spanish press does not seem to be the right place for any specific updates on Romeo Lavia. But according to El Nacional, the Southampton midfielder is also interested in Real Madrid this summer.

However, the report claims that Liverpool have now made a £55m (£43m/€50m) bid to try to secure a deal for Lavia. The club ‘hopes’ that will be enough to convince Southampton.

This proved to be enough to get Real Madrid back. While Carlo Ancelotti was keen on Lavia, that pursuit is now over, with the decision to keep Aurélien Tchouaméni also affecting the appeal.

Liverpool.com says:
It is interesting to know that Real Madrid have shown an interest in Lavia this summer. How many midfielders does a club need?

Failure in this race after seeing Tchouaméni and then Jude Bellingham arrive at the Bernabéu would make Liverpool particularly angry. But while Real Madrid may be gone, much work remains to be done to strike a final deal with Southampton. Overall, however, it seems that the two sides are drawing closer together.
