Following initial suggestions that they would be after the 19-year-old Liverpool player, Southern Daily Echo’s Alfie House revealed that they have now approached Southampton with the intention of hijacking the transfer. Their opening offer is estimated to be worth £48m, £3m more than the third offer rejected by the Reds but £2m less than the advertised asking price.
However, it remains to be seen what happens next – Sky Sports claim Southampton are likely to reject Chelsea’s initial package.
However, Lavia is not the only player rumored for the London club, with other details on the agenda.
The Guardian says Mauricio Pochettino hopes to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton in time for Sunday’s game while Sky Sports reports goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is Bayern Munich’s top target. Spurs are believed to have finally accepted an offer from Bayern Munich for the transfer of Harry Kane, opening the door to a potentially shocking big-money transfer for the Premier League.

Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich is the other player linked with Old Trafford. Sky Sports in Germany say that the World Cup-winning defender is wanted as a replacement for Harry Maguire should he depart to West Ham.
