Jürgen Klopp is reportedly considering a $44 million Serie A defender, and there has also been talk of a ‘inquiry’ for a Canadian winger, according to reports in the transfer market for Liverpool.

While Liverpool supporters fret over replacing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson with another defensive midfielder (at least), there are other areas of the Reds’ team that need improvement.

Roméo Lavia, a 19-year-old Belgian who plays for Southampton, appears to be the most immediate objective; nevertheless, even if that trade is successful, Jörg Schmadtke’s work is not done.

Liverpool has to strengthen its defense at center back, as well as fix its midfield, since it has often given up goals in the preseason. The transfer deadline is coming up in three weeks and one day, and time is running out.

However, there is still no firm shortlist of names for Liverpool’s defensive reinforcements, and it is uncertain which approach the club will take in that regard, assuming that something is done in the coming weeks.

Here is Liverpool.com’s assessment of the latest Reds transfer rumors, which include talk of a young forward and a well-known figure from the past two or three years’ worth of rumors.

According to Liverpool.com, Jebbison is a gifted adolescent and Liverpool is constantly searching the world for the best young possibilities. However, it is reasonable to say that the Reds currently have a lot more important priorities.

Perr Schuurs, from Turin
One area that Liverpool undoubtedly needs to improve is the back, where adding another center-back is a top priority. Truth be told, there is a case for signing a right-sided option as well, although a left-sided option is now being explored.

Perr Schuurs, a former Ajax player, has previously been linked, including for the majority of this summer. According to the Italian website Calciomercato, West Ham and Liverpool are both ‘at the window’ for the player.

Torino values the 23-year-old at $44 million (£35 million/€40 million), and according to reports, the Serie A club has already rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for around three-quarters of that sum.

According to Liverpool.com, this has seemed like a move that the Reds could complete in the past, but they have never actually done it and signed the Dutchman.
