A report has claimed that Jurgen Klopp could start his final season as Liverpool manager despite still having a contract until 2026.

Klopp originally planned to leave Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season until he signs a new contract in 2022 that runs until 2026. However, an update from Football Transfers has revealed that a signing next year is still on his mind.

The manager is said to be “disappointed with the lack of investment from FSG this summer”, with the report stressing that they have not backed him for Jude Bellingham’s transfer.

Due to deal costs, Liverpool have canceled a deal for the England midfielder, who has arrived at Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund instead. The Red Devils have since completed the signing of alternate targets such as Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

But now they face similar concerns in their pursuit of Romeo Lavia after he failed to meet the price offered by Southampton.

And with Klopp believing he has ‘taken the team as far as he can’ with his current form, he has ‘serious doubts about his time with the club and whether he sees a future with the club. them or not’.

Targets still on his agenda in the current transfer window include a defensive midfielder to replace Fabinho and a new centre-back.

If Liverpool can fulfill those wishes and continue to enjoy a more successful season than the last, Klopp can forget about leaving and keep committing. But there are still some uncertainties at the moment. Liverpool working to meet Klopp’s transfer demands
So their owners must try to appease Klopp’s remaining transfer requests. They are working to achieve their goals as soon as possible, but the high valuations of other clubs have become an obstacle.

And Liverpool’s failure to play in the Champions League this season – although any manager must accept some responsibility for such an element – seems to have dampened Klopp’s enthusiasm.

With Liverpool, he won seven trophies and finished second in four other cup competitions. In charge since 2015, he is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League. It doesn’t mean he will turn his back on them just before the season starts, but he will have to work on what is on offer for what could be his final campaign in Merseyside.

The report gave no clue as to who Liverpool could replace him with. As for his own next step, contacts to work in Germany have been reiterated – although Klopp himself recently turned it down due to his contract situation.
