Liverpool are close to signing Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

A report from Athletic claims that Liverpool have now reached an agreement with Brighton to sign the player for a fee of around £110m.

Chelsea are said to be keen to sign the 21-year-old and they have offered him up to £100m. However, Brighton decided to sell him to the highest bidder.

Liverpool have yet to agree personal terms with the player and it remains to be seen whether they can arrange formalities in time for the player’s medical scheduled for Friday.

This development will deal a blow to Chelsea, who are hoping to sign the player as an ideal long-term replacement for N’Golo Kanté.

Liverpool have been hungry to rebuild their midfield this summer and now they have done it in spectacular fashion.

The signings of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Moises Caicedo will improve them greatly and it remains to be seen if the Reds can deliver a title next season.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league and he is only 21 years old. Working with a world-class coach like Jurgen Klopp will only help him further progress and realize his huge potential.

The Ecuador international has what it takes to become a world-class player and he hopes to prove Liverpool’s investment in the coming seasons.
