The fee is said to be worth £111m, with Caicedo due to travel to Liverpool on Friday for a medical. A sale clause will also be included in the agreement.
Brighton set a deadline for offers to arrive at midnight on Thursday, and providing their assessment was met, they would go with the highest bidder.

Liverpool were told just after midnight that they were indeed the highest bidders. Personal terms have been agreed with Caicedo and the planning of all the transfer formalities has now begun.
It is clear that Chelsea were willing to pay £100m, while Bayern Munich indicated they would pay £90m.

The Premier League player, who had just become Ecuador’s youngest goalscorer at a World Cup, is once again scoring, but this time as a player for Caicedos FC, a side made up of extended family members.
His goal, scored in an environment close to the shabby post, helped Caicedos FC win the tournament and was celebrated with a leap, a punch and a gesture of appreciation to the several hundred spectators seated or leaning on the fences surrounding the land.
“It’s Moises,” says Miguel Angel Ramirez, Caicedo’s former coach at his youth club Independiente del Valle, smiling to Sky Sports. “To return to his village, to his family, to his friends, to play football, to help everyone there. He does not forget his people…”

After his country was eliminated from the World Cup last year when other players flew to prime resorts, Moises Caicedo was back in Santo Domingo, Ecuador, playing in a tournament local on the same dusty field he used when he was a boy.
