According to 90min, Liverpool has entered the competition to recruit Tyler Adams, a midfielder for Leeds United, as Jurgen Klopp urgently tried to improve his midfield this month.Following the acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboslai from Brighton and RB Leipzig, respectively, the Merseyside club has only added two midfielders. Considering that the Reds are involved in four different competitions this season, including the UEFA Europa League, Klopp is anticipated to add at least two more midfielders to his roster.

Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo were targets for Liverpool, but both players are moving to Chelsea. Caicedo signed an eight-year contract with the West Londoners on Monday, completing his British record transfer.

Lavia will run for office.

This summer, Adams was about to sign with Chelsea, but the club decided against it because they were pursuing Caicedo and Lavia. His £20 million release clause was triggered by the Blues, but the Daily Mail reports that the deal collapsed due to concerns about a hamstring issue discovered during his test. After being relegated with Leeds the previous season, the youthful midfielder is eager to return to the Premier League.

As Klopp wants to strengthen his midfield for the upcoming campaign, 90min reports that Liverpool is now reportedly showing a significant interest in signing Adams.

However, Bournemouth reportedly made a £20 million offer to activate the player’s release clause, so Liverpool will have to move quickly if they want to reach an agreement. This means the Reds will face fierce competition.

Adams played in 26 appearances for Leeds in all competitions last year. Due to an injury he sustained during the end of the previous season, the USA international is yet to play for Daniel Farke’s team this year.
