In an effort to maintain his impressive rate of improvement this season, Ben Doak is eager to make an impression at every chance.

In Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the 17-year-old attacker made his sixth senior game for Liverpool as a second-half substitute.
Doak made an impression during the Reds’ preseason campaign, scoring in a friendly victory over Leicester City in Singapore. He has expressed his desire to make a significant contribution to Jürgen Klopp’s team in 2023–24.

The Scotland U21 international told Liverpoolfc.com, “I’m just happy to be around – any minutes are a bonus for me, I’m just trying to enjoy it.”

“There’s been a big jump from when I joined the club last year, and I feel like the best player I’ve ever been, so I’m just looking to keep kicking on,” said the player.

Doak said, “Not any specifically, I just want to play more than last season,” in response to the question of if he had any goals for the upcoming campaign.I’m obviously appreciative of all the opportunities I’ve been given, but for now, I’m just trying to advance my career. Play as many games as you can, and try to do well.

Doak is making the most of his opportunity to learn from Liverpool’s experienced attackers by becoming a frequent feature in senior training sessions.
“Well, the part of my game I need to improve is the end product, so I’m just trying to look at what these lot do because every single one of them is a machine for either scoring goals or providing assists,” he continued.

When asked about his mindset, the teenager said: “Obviously I made a few appearances for Celtic before I came here as well. So, I’m not used to it, I’ll never be used to it, but I am more used to the big crowds than most lads my age would be, and also I’m going out to do what I’ve been doing my whole life, so there’s not really any reason to be scared.”
