This summer, Aurelien Tchouameni’s name has been connected to Liverpool once more as the Reds search for a replacement for their unsuccessful pursuits of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Tchouameni and Federico Valverde from Real Madrid were reportedly inquired about by Jurgen Klopp’s team, but Ben Jacobs claims that the former has no interest in leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

Between now and the time the window closes, I anticipate Liverpool to be busy, added Jacobs.

“I don’t see too much substance in those links,” the player said. “Real Madrid don’t want to sell Tchouameni, and the player doesn’t want to leave.”

The Reds are in desperate need of a holding midfielder after losing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in recent weeks to Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League, respectively. The news of the Frenchman’s attitude is another transfer setback for the Reds.

Despite the summer addition of English wonder Jude Bellingham, Tchouameni appears to be a vital player for Los Blancos this season, therefore Liverpool will once again need to search elsewhere to fill the vacuum in their midfield.

Who else, if not Tchouameni?
There is a likelihood that discussions about a switch to Anfield may take place there since Valverde’s position is currently undetermined. Given the present pool of skill that Carlo Ancelotti has at his disposal in the middle of the park, the Uruguayan may be regarded surplus to needs.
Andre Trindade, a quality midfielder for Fluminense, is reportedly another player the Reds are interested in. The Brazilian’s contract with the Brasileirao team is thought to include a £34 million release clause, and Liverpool is thought to have made a proposal for him at the beginning of August before negotiations heated up with Lavia’s side.

Before the transfer market closes, Klopp’s team will undoubtedly have a busy two weeks in the transfer department, however it is yet unclear who will enter Anfield on September 1.
