It’s anyone’s guess who Liverpool FC will turn to next in their search for a suitable defensive midfielder after two very public rejections.

Ibrahim Sangaré of PSV Eindhoven is one such possibility. He has already been mentioned in connection with the Reds on a few times this and last summer. According to reports, the contract of the 25-year-old Tifo Football Sensible Transfers favorite includes a £32 million release clause.

In an interview with Empire of the Kop, Neil Jones describes Liverpool’s opinion of the player:

“There was a reason why Liverpool was so eager to sign Cody Gakpo when they went to PSV in January. They were concerned that Ibrahim Sangare and Madueke would be sold, which would affect the price PSV would be willing to sell Gakpo for, in addition to the fact that they liked the player.

Therefore, it is obvious that Liverpool believes Sangare will eventually join a bigger team. It will be interesting to see if he is prepared for the Liverpool level. He has played in a variety of positions and succeeded well, and he has previously been connected with Liverpool. However, it is a significant step up from the Eredivisie.

“In the Premier League, £32 million is hardly beyond of anyone’s hitting range, is it? Definitely not from Liverpool’s! Is it possible for him to enter the side and start playing games right away? Does he have the No. 6 position that Liverpool needs?

Liverpool will have to act quickly if they really want Sangaré. Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato reports that Bayern is negotiating personal terms with the player in an effort to reach a deal before the release clause is activated.
