Due to an injury, will have to wait to make his Preston North End debut.

Despite another two months on the sidelines, Calvin Ramsay will not be returning to Liverpool from his loan stint at Preston North End.

After spending a lot of time on the sidelines, the former Aberdeen defender was given the chance to play in the Championship.

Ramsay was brought in from Pittodrie to take on Trent Alexander-Arnold, but his progress was hampered by a knee ailment that required surgery. In preparation for his time at Deepdale, the 20-year-old started preseason at the AXA Training Center, although he has not yet made an appearance for Ryan Lowe’s team.

It was initially anticipated that he would be ready to play against Salford City in the first round of the Carabao Cup. He did, however, sit out and appears to be out for a while.

This year, Preston hopes to contend for a playoff spot. The Lillywhites have collected four points from their first two Championship games. This weekend, they will visit newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday in an effort to build on their 2-1 victory over Sunderland.

They will be without the Scotland international, but Lowe assured fans that his loan from Liverpool won’t be terminated because of the injury.

He’s only experienced a minor setback, and we’ll now make sure to monitor him, according to Preston’s manager. We will make sure to build him up and make him stronger, even if it takes six to eight weeks.

There are many rumors that [Ramsay] is returning to Liverpool and that the loan will be canceled, but that won’t happen, the speaker continued.

“The young man and I am both disappointed, but this happens in football. Even if he is not permanently ours, we have a responsibility of care to all of our players, and he hasn’t participated in many games over the past 12 months.

“We will most definitely do that, and we’ll make sure he’s prepared when he’s healthy and accessible.

“I believe Calvin was making progress. He wasn’t close to the levels, therefore his fitness was picking up speed. We had to do a few additional things with him to build him up because we were disappointed in him when he first got to us.

But I do believe that everything occurs for a reason. I firmly believe it, and I believe that this has set him behind even though I know there won’t be a setback when he is totally fit the following time. We’ll therefore collaborate with Liverpool on it and make sure we act appropriately.
