Crystal Palace has informed Liverpool that a bid of £70 million will be accepted if they want to sign , and Jurgen Klopp is prepared to ask club executives to fund the transfer of the all-action Mali midfielder.

After seeing their engine room badly decimated this summer, the Reds are keen to strengthen their midfield. They still lack three bodies compared to last season despite signing Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Waturo Endo on Friday.

The Reds were preparing for the departures of Naby Keita, James Milner, Arthur Melo, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in order to achieve this. But they did not anticipate the sales of mainstays Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, both of whom were released this summer.

While Klopp is undoubtedly thrilled to have signed Japanese star Endo, the Reds manager still intends to bolster his midfield this summer by at least one more player.

A number of well-known figures have been linked in this regard, with Fabrizio Romano stating that Ryan Gravenberch is seeking to leave Bayern Munich as a result of Liverpool’s interest.

But they still keep glancing towards Sofyan Amrabat, a standout for Fiorentina. The Moroccan is available for about €30 million (£25 million), although he appears to desire a transfer to Manchester United.

However, Doucoure also has another candidate on the table who is much closer to home. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder had a successful season in his first season.

He was one of the first names on the teamsheet and was named the Eagles’ Player of the Year after a streak of outst

However, Liverpool’s interest in the 12-cap Mali midfielder raises the possibility that his stay in south-east London won’t last long.

Additionally, Football Insider claims that Liverpool has received significant encouragement that a deal may be imminent.

Doucoure has reportedly stated his desire to transfer to Anfield in reports from earlier this week.

The Eagles reportedly reacted to Liverpool’s inquiries by telling the Reds a deal is possible if they satisfy their £70 million asking price.

The cost might seem a bit high, but after passing on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Liverpool’s need is getting close to becoming desperate.

With lessons to be learned, particularly from the Lavia debacle, Klopp is determined to make sure Liverpool does not miss out on another top target

The German is reportedly pleading with Anfield management to agree to Palace’s demands in order to expedite the signing of Doucoure.

On Saturday, Liverpool hosts Bournemouth at Anfield, but Klopp intends to have Doucoure in his squad by the time they play Newcastle the following Sunday at St. James’ Park.
