John Aldridge discusses Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth and the red card for Alexis Mac Allister in part one of his weekly columnI am hopeful Saturday’s three points earned at the expense of Bournemouth will be the first of many this season.

The fact that we are scoring goals is what matters most to me. Even if Chelsea was our sole opportunity, we are still improving and creating other opportunities.

Dominik Szoboszlai and  Alexis MacAllister will be moved up the field once Klopp acquires the midfielder he desires.Three

guys up there, as opposed to our present strategy of three with Cody Gakpo dropping back, can improve the balance of the assault.

To his credit, I felt Gakpo performed admirably on Saturday, although he is still getting acclimated to playing in the middle of the field and occasionally gets lost.

We’vehad issues in recent games with the holding midfielder position, and the club is seeking for that kind of guy.

I truly don’t know what can be said about the red card judgement or how Alexis Mac Allister was dismissed. I cannot understand that call.

There is absolutely no malice in it, hence it is not a red card. Mac Allister attempted to catch the ball but stumbled a bit. The Bournemouth player’s unfortunate demise also done Mac Allister no favors. With the exception of this choice, I honestly think the referee played well.
