Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is understood to prefer a move to Tottenham Hotspur over Chelsea this summer.

According to the report, West Ham United was also quite interested in Johnson.

If a deal could be reached, the 22-year-old is rumored to favor a transfer to Tottenham as a road to the first team at their rivals Chelsea is not as obvious.

Johnson started both of Nottingham Forest’s season-opening contests, therefore his absence would be felt greatly by the team.

Forest will likely view a sale as the sensible course of action at a stated price of £50 million, though.

Another concern is if Johnson would be the solution to Tottenham’s striker dilemma.

Although he has occasionally played as a center striker, the Welshman has spent the majority of his time either out wide or directly behind the striker.

Fans can question if Johnson should be a priority signing at this time, even though Johnson prefers a move to Tottenham over one to Chelsea.

Johnson would be able to play in any one of the front three positions, but Tottenham already has a talented bunch of wingers.

Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min appear to be the team’s top options right now, while Manor Solomon and the injured Bryan Gil are still on hand as backups.

James Maddison has also performed admirably in the past on the wing.

Although it could appear that other areas would take precedence from the outside, Ange Postecoglou may really feel that depth is needed in the area.

But the fact that Johnson would choose Tottenham over Chelsea is really encouraging.

In addition to bragging rights, Spurs might now be able to secure their guy.

Although this is good news for Tottenham fans, it was already disclosed that the club will prioritize exits before pursuing new players.
